Avocado is one of the best foods you can consume.  Not only are they delicious but they are also heart healthy and are loaded with vitamins which is why they’re an incredible addition to any meal.. so can you imagine our frustration when we go to grab one in the kitchen but can only find bright-green unripened avos?!

What if we told you that with just a baking sheet, tinfoil, and a stubbornly unripe avocado, you can satiate your unrelenting avo craving in just 10 minutes?   Here’s how to do it:

Step One: Preheat your oven to 100°C.

Step Two: Wrap the avocado in tinfoil and set it on the baking sheet. Place in the oven for 10 minutes, or until the avocado is soft.

Step Three:  Remove from the oven, and place in the fridge to cool. Once cooled, enjoy your fresh guacamole or avocado toast!

While this may seem to good to be true, there’s a simple scientific explanation behind this work of magic. Avocados slowly release ethylene gas, which causes the fruit to ripen. Placing a tinfoil-wrapped avocado in the oven traps the ethylene gas around the fruit, putting the ripening process into hyperdrive.
